ABOUT THE PHOENIX CENTER
Soaring in Spite of Adversity
The Phoenix Center gets its name from the phoenix, a creature that rises from the ashes of destruction, like all those who gain clarity, perspective, and strength after experiencing trauma and adversity.

Jaimie Homan, MSW, LCSW
A therapist, an advocate, an adoptive parent
As an adoptive mother with experience in parenting children with special needs and attachment trauma, I understand the challenges associated with various dynamic family settings. My personal and professional experience has taught me to lead with empathy, that no two experiences are the same, and that with the proper guidance, healing can come.
I am a licensed clinical social worker in Florida, specializing in treating all types of trauma. Since completing my master's degree in social work, I've worked in private practice, as a crisis counselor and advocate for survivors of sexual assault, and as a therapist providing individual, family, and group therapy in a residential substance use recovery facility.
I have counseled children, adults, and adolescents in trauma and abuse recovery for over 15 years. I look forward to helping you on your journey toward healing.

Areas of practice
I employ techniques from CBT, motivational interviewing, EMDR, bibliotherapy, exposure, narrative, and acceptance and commitment therapy according to my clients’ specific needs.
